Strong Concepts announces
two new TEAPAC products, PRESYNCHRO and PRETSPPD,
providing the first-ever linkages between TEAPAC software and the
popular Synchro/SimTraffic program and the powerful TS/PP-Draft
program. PRETSPPD allows a direct
link to view the realistic flow diagrams of TS/PP-Draft,
with an option to import any changed offsets back into PRETSPPD (read more
). PRESYNCHRO has two
significant modes in its connection to Synchro/SimTraffic:
Major upgrades to PRENETSIM,
PRETRANSYT and PREPASSR have
been made, first, to allow SIGNAL2000's new seamless
integration among themselves, the new programs, and back
to SIGNAL2000; and second, to provide full support for the latest
releases of their host programs -- TSIS/CORSIM 5.1,
TRANSYT-7F Release 9.7, and PASSER II-02.
Each of the TEAPAC programs has also been extended in size to
handle as many as 500 intersections and added the ability to
produce a graphical view of the network with an optional bitmap
aerial or map background. (read

)
SIGNAL2000 has had a minor
update to keep pace with the new releases above, thus allowing
complete two-way, seamless integration of the six major elements
of TEAPAC -- SIGNAL2000, PRETSPPD, PREPASSR, PRETRANSYT,
PRENETSIM and PRESYNCHRO. Combined with the major upgrade
to SIGNAL2000 which was announced in December, this allows
one-click transfer of data and control between these six programs
for a truly integrated approach for any project which uses any or
all of these programs. (read

Also of signficant note, VISSIM
3.70 has been announced by Innovative
Transportation Concepts (PTV America)
which provides direct access to TEAPAC data files supported by
all of these programs, further extending the integration of
projects using TEAPAC software. This enhancement allows a
complete VISSIM network to be generated from the simple TEAPAC
inputs without the need to be a VISSIM expert knowledgeable in
all of the detailed aspects of creating and coding a VISSIM
network. (read more

Strong Concepts' SIGNAL2000 and SITE programs have been updated to include enhancements recently added to PRETRANSYT and PRENETSIM for advanced modeling features. SIGNAL2000 and SITE have also been enhanced with the latest update of the TEAPAC2000 Ver 5 Interface, Version 5.02 Build 16 (see below), as well as a few other minor improvements. These updates are essential for using SIGNAL2000 to enter data which will then be used in PRETRANSYT, PRENETSIM and/or SITE in order to take advantage of their new modeling features. Updates to current licenses are free as downloads at our update download site. Other update and/or upgrade fees may apply to older licenses. Download a free demo here if you haven't yet seen the power, effectiveness and optimization brought to true-HCM signalized intersection capacity analyses by SIGNAL2000.
All TEAPAC programs have been updated to the latest update of the TEAPAC2000 Ver 5 Interface, Version 5.02 Build 16 in order to fine-tune the initial release of Ver 5 made last Fall. A few new features have been added, and a few problems have been fixed. This Build 16 update is free at our update download site to all licensees who have kept their licenses current. Read about the updated features here. Other update and/or upgrade fees may apply to older licenses.
Strong Concepts' 2002/2003 training schedule has been announced with a new course title "Designing Optimized Traffic Signals and Systems Using TEAPAC, PASSER, TRANSYT and CORSIM". The new course title better reflects the course's purpose which goes well beyond just timing traffic signals in the field, to include signal timing related to intersection design studies, traffic impact studies, alternatives analysis, and planning studies, all of which require legitimate capacity analysis and signal timing methods in order to be successful. The training year kicks off with this course in Baton Rouge at LSU September 16-18, followed immediately by this year's only offering of the "Advanced TEAPAC Application Techniques" course September 19-20. The advanced course provides important insight into automation and file management techniques for all TEAPAC programs. Subsequent courses will be held in Hartford (Connecticut), Boulder (Colorado) Orlando (Florida), and Evanston (Illinois) throughout the year. Check our Training and Events Calendar for details, including dates, fees, course outlines and on-line registration for these time-proven courses conducted in conjunction with Louisianna State University, University of Wisconsin, University of Central Florida, and Northwestern University.
Also read below about our recent improvements to WARRANTS2000 and TURNS to include the 2000 MUTCD Multi-way Stop Warrant Analysis and an option for user-selection of the so-called 56% rule for (see our new MUTCD watch page for details on this issue), as well as the significant feature set which has been added to PRETRANSYT and PRENETSIM for modeling more complex situations.
Strong Concepts' WARRANTS2000 program has been updated to include a Multi-way Stop Warrant Analysis. In addition, an option has been added for user-selection of the so-called 56% rule for the Combination of Warrants used in a 2000 Signal Warrant Analysis. Our new MUTCD watch page documents the current status of the 56% rule and the evolution it is going through, including links to the FHWA web sites related to this issue. These changes have been made to the already-popular WARRANTS2000 and TURNS TEAPAC programs which perform signal warrant analyses according to both the 1988 and 2000 MUTCD methods.
Free demos are downloadable at our demo site, and these updates are free at our update download page to licensees who have recently updated their licenses to include the 2000 MUTCD and the generic TEAPAC Version 5 interface changes which became available last October in all TEAPAC programs. Licensees who have not updated will get the Version 5 interface update free with a paid update to the versions described here. Prices for the updates start at $69 each, depending on the version of an existing license.
Check out the details of these and our other powerful TEAPAC programs and their latest updates, along with the vast array of interface enhancements which became available with the Version 5 update.
Also, don't forget about our recent enhancements to the industry-favorite SIGNAL2000, and our PRETRANSYT and PRENETSIM programs. The SIGNAL2000 changes include queue model changes made by the Highway Capacity Manual Committee -- SIGNAL2000 is a faithful implementation of the 2000 Highway Capacity Manual for signalized intersections which performs reliable signal timing and phasing optimization based on HCM delay. PRETRANSYT and PRENETSIM are pre-processors for TRANSYT-7F and CORSIM, respectively, which make their input and use easy, and easily connected to SIGNAL2000 and PREPASSR via our compatible data file structure.
|
Strong Concepts' preprocessors, PRETRANSYT and PRENETSIM, for the TRANSYT-7F and CORSIM traffic models have been vastly enhanced to include many advanced modeling capabilities which are available in these time-tested, government-sponsored models. These enhanced capabilities add to the already unprecedented features provided by PRETRANSYT and PRENETSIM for efficient and reliable execution of traffic system modeling, optimization and animation projects. At their January meeting, the HCM Capacity Committee approved several changes to the HCM signalized intersection queue model. Most notably, the method for handling unbalanced lane utilization has been improved from an approximation to a more precise calculation. Read about this change and others which were made at our HCM Watch Page. SIGNAL2000 has been updated to include these new changes in Version 1.11 which is downloadable as a free update for licensed SIGNAL2000 Ver 1.1x users. Ver 1.0x licenses must be updated for a fee of $69 (plus processing) which will include the new Ver 5 TEAPAC interface as part of the update (see article below).
NOSTOP and TED have new builds which correct a few minor problems discovered in recent weeks. Download updates are available for current license holders.
